Lionel Messi would love to join Barcelona again after leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), his father and agent, Jorge Messi, told reporters on Monday.

Jorge Messi was caught on camera entering the home of Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, on Monday morning. He denied that the two had a meeting but said, "Of course, he [Messi] would love to return to Barcelona. I would like it too. We will see."

Having joined Barca when he was 13, Lionel Messi played 21 years in the club, helping them win 35 trophies and becoming the greatest player in their history. He left in the summer of 2021 because Barcelona suffered a financial crisis and joined PSG. Having played two seasons for the French powerhouse, Lionel Messi added two Ligue 1 titles to his collection of honors before parting ways with the club to become a free agent again.

Judging by Lionel Messi's performance, scoring 32 goals and 35 assists in 75 games for PSG and leading Argentina to win the FIFA World Cup championship in Qatar in December 2022, he is still one of the best players in the world and capable of helping Barcelona find a way out of their dilemma soon.

According to Barca manager Xavi Hernandez, "The doors are open" for Lionel Messi to return, and he would make a decision this week.

Barcelona is not alone in courting Messi. Al Hilal of the Saudi Professional League have offered Lionel Messi a massive salary to join, and Major League Soccer team Inter Miami are also interested in landing the Argentine superstar.
