Two people were killed and five others injured in a shooting on Tuesday evening outside a theater where a high school graduation ceremony had just taken place in Virginia's capital Richmond, CNN reported, citing the city's interim police chief Rick Edwards.

A 19-year-old suspect has been detained, and police intend to pursue charges of second-degree murder against him, Edwards said.
