An explosion took place on Thursday inside a mosque in Faizabad, the capital of Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province, during the funeral of the provincial deputy governor who was killed in an attack earlier this week, provincial Director for Information and Culture Qari Maazudin Ahamdi said.
At least 15 people were killed and 50 others wounded in the explosion, the local television channel Tolonews reported, citing a source from the provincial hospital who was speaking on condition of anonymity.
