Exploring Chinese civilization: Chinese martial arts amaze Dutch student

Kelson Teo has come all the way from the Netherlands to study law at Tsinghua University in the Chinese capital. Before coming to China, he participated in a cultural exchange program called "Quest for Roots" and visited some historical sites in Xinzheng, central China's Henan Province. Although he only visited a few sites, he was impressed by the rich and time-honored history of the area.
During the tour, Teo said he was amazed by the discipline and perseverance of the youth in Shaolin Temple – they would train incessantly in sweltering heat without taking a single sip of water, exuding the true spirit of the Chinese martial arts.
