The 6,845-meter-long subsea tunnel of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor began the process for its last immersed tube installation on June 8, with the overall tunneling work expected to finish in four days.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, consisting of the tunnel section and a bridge section, is expected to complete construction by November and open to traffic in 2024. When completed, the project will cut the commute time between the cities of Shenzhen and Zhongshan in southern China from two hours to just 30 minutes.
