Fires burning across Canada have left 20,000 people displaced and sent a smoky haze billowing across U.S. cities.
About 3.8 million hectares have already burned in Canada, roughly 15 times the 10-year average. Warm, dry conditions are predicted to continue in the months ahead. The U.S. has sent more than 600 firefighters as well as equipment to Canada, with other countries also helping.
