Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a joint press conference on Saturday during the former's visit to Kyiv.

Trudeau said Canada would take part in a multinational effort to train Ukrainian fighter pilots and announced 500 million Canadian dollars ($375 million) worth of military aid.

Trudeau also said that Canada seized a Russian-owned Antonov cargo aircraft that landed in Canada last year and the process of forfeiting the aircraft to Ukraine was starting.

Zelenskyy told the press conference that counteroffensive action was underway against Russian forces, while declining to give any details. "Counteroffensive and defensive actions are taking place in Ukraine, and at which stage I will not talk in detail," he said.
