The opening ceremony for the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) was held with hundreds of high-profile celebrities in attendance. This year marks the 30th anniversary of its launch. The opening gala night began with Chen Kaige, Chow Yun-fat and Michelle Yeoh to honor the three decades' film festival. After being cancelled last year due to COVID-19, SIFF is returning in-person with global premieres of films and various workshops, masterclasses and forums.
