Manchester City and Inter Milan will play each other for the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League title at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Türkiye, on Saturday.

Man City, the most dominant team in the Premier League in the past decade, have been fighting for their first Champions League title under a series of different managers. Pep Guardiola took the club to the tournament's final for the first time in their history during the 2020-21 campaign, but they lost to Chelsea, which couldn't match Man City in their lineup strength on paper.

Now Guardiola's team has another chance against Inter, which are not at the same level with Man City either in players strength. Moreover, on their way to the final, Man City have beaten two traditional Champions League powerhouses, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. They seem to have remoulded themselves.

"It's a dream, yes," Guardiola said of winning the Champions League title to do the treble. "It has to be. To achieve things, you always have to have the correct level of obsession or desire. Obsession is a positive word for the desire to do it, but of course it's a dream."

"We know how important it is. I don't control what the people have opinions about, I just focus on what we have to do. I saw Inter's games and we try to do our game. Everything finishes with a game and the team who performs best over 95 minutes will win," he added.

Compared with Man City, which secured the Premier League title three games early, Inter finished third in the Serie A this season. On their way to the final, Inter defeated Porto, Benfica and AC Milan, all of which are good teams, but just not as impressive as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. That's why many consider Inter as the underdog against Man City in the coming final.

"We all know City, we know that they're the strongest team in the world. Even in the few defeats they've suffered they've proved it," Inter's manager Simone Inzaghi said. "But it will be eleven vs eleven," the Inter coach continued. "We know the journey we've taken to get here. We'll play a match with a strong mentality."

Unlike Man City, Inter have won the Champions League title three times before. The last time they did it in the 2009-10 season, they were seen as the underdog as well, but the Nerazzurri beat formidable Barcelona and Bayern teams in the semifinals and final respectively.
