The destruction of the Kakhovka Dam has severely impacted drinking water, food supplies and the ecosystem that reaches into the Black Sea. Since the dam's collapse on June 6, the rushing waters have uprooted landmines, torn through caches of weapons and ammunition, and carried 150 tonnes of machine oil to the Black Sea.
