Chinese archaeologists have recovered about 100 artifacts from two ancient shipwrecks discovered in the South China Sea. The recovery work was carried out by the manned submersible "Deep Sea Warrior." The ancient shipwrecks, which probably date back to the middle of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), were discovered together with the treasures on board at a depth of about 1,500 meters. The artifacts are expected to provide valuable information on the history of Chinese ceramics, the history of overseas trade, and the study of the Maritime Silk Road.
