2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It aims to build trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and beyond along the ancient Silk Road trade routes for common development and prosperity. As a new model for international cooperation, the BRI has shown its vitality and resilience in promoting global development through openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefits and sustainability.
CGTN Stringer hit the campus of Tsinghua University to find out unique experiences of overseas youth related to the BRI. Some of them have joined BRI-themed student associations, while others were taught about the initiative at high school. Shinna from Singapore recalled that when she was in high school, everyone in her class, even the teachers, were very optimistic about the initiative. "China is helping boost the economic vibrancy in Asia. And we really look forward to that," she said.
