The 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Force to United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) recently completed a comprehensive nighttime defense exercise. The defense infantry unit of the participating Chinese peacekeeping force was one of the major defense forces during the drill. Under the scenario that the camp was faced with an attack at night, the drill aimed to test the peacekeeping contingents' capabilities in coordinated operations such as firearm and militancy emergencies and ensuing medical treatment.
During the exercise, the Chinese peacekeeping infantry unit blocked a car bomb from entering the camp and then the sentry moved positions to protect from the car bomb explosion. Meanwhile, the medical contingent finished the task of bandaging the injured on the spot and transferring the severely wounded to the Chinese Level-II Hospital for emergency treatment.
