Fierce fighting continued in Sudanese capital Khartoum on Monday. Last Friday, warring sides in Sudan agreed to a 24-hour cease-fire which started at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
Since mid-April, Sudan's military, headed by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, have been locked in a violent conflict. The conflict has resulted in hundreds of deaths, thousand of injuries and over one million people displaced, said Workneh Gebeyehu, executive secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development on Monday.
