The world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier and refueling vessel completed loading its cargo of bonded LNG at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in east China's Zhejiang Province on Monday.

The Chinese vessel, named Offshore Oil 301, docked at the Green Energy Port terminal on Sunday for the 14-hour loading operation.

It was loaded with 11,000 cubic meters of LNG at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port on Monday and will carry out the first bonded LNG refueling operation for ships on international voyages in the coming two days.

The successful loading means the Green Energy Port terminal has become the first terminal in China's Yangtze River Delta region to supply bonded LNG to LNG carrier and refueling vessels, which is expected to support the development of the oil and gas industry in Zhejiang's pilot free trade zone.

The domestically developed Offshore Oil 301, which is 184.7 meters long and 28.1 meters wide, has a maximum capacity of 30,000 cubic meters of LNG.

It is the largest LNG carrier refueling vessel in the world and can refuel large ships at sea, pumping 1,650 cubic meters of LNG per hour.

Operated by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), it was put into use in November 2022 to provide flexible refueling services for the country's offshore merchant fleet.
