Three people died and many others suffered injuries after two blasts caused by fireworks hit residential buildings in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Tuesday evening, according to local authorities.

A suspect who is believed to have caused the explosions has been arrested. An investigation into the incident and the treatment of the injured are underway.
