Wushu was first incorporated into the Asian Games in 1990. It includes two disciplines: taolu and sanda. Taolu is a combination of gymnastics and martial arts, while sanda is a modern fighting method and sport much like kickboxing. Wushu is among the 24 competitive sports of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which will now be held from September 23 to October 8 in 2023 following a previous pandemic-caused postponement.
