The remarks of a former Canadian employee at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) were "sensational hype and outright lies," the Chinese embassy in Canada said in a statement on Wednesday.
The AIIB has accepted the resignation of Bob Pickard, who has served as the director general of communications since March 2022. Pickard's recent public comments and characterization of the bank are "baseless and disappointing," the AIIB said.
China is committed to multilateral rules and AIIB procedures as well as decision-making through multilateral governance mechanism, the embassy said. Facts show that China works to safeguard global peace, promote common development and cope with global challenges, it added.
