Often chosen as the setting for many movies and TV series, there's a famous film location around many corners in Shanghai.
Take the Bund Finance Center in downtown Huangpu for example, which was featured in the 2017 TV series "The First Half of My Life." The shows characters played by actor Jin Dong and actress Yuan Quan worked at a leading consulting firm based at the center.
Covering 420,000 square meters, the plaza combines offices with a hotel, cultural center and boutique stores. Its luxurious, modern style in the perfect location on the shores of Huangpu River has made it an ideal choice for many TV dramas.

A Shanghai local who works nearby said they often spot TV actors and actresses in their company's lobby. "The TV drama 'Nothing But Thirty' was also shot here. This is a trendy spot for young people as many exhibitions and music festivals are often held here. It shows Shanghai as an open and international metropolis."
If you want to revisit Shanghai's past, the century-old Blackstone Apartments on Middle Fuxing Road in Xuhui District is a nice choice. The six-story building was built in 1924 and was once the city's most prestigious residence, housing foreign celebrities and diplomats, including the consul general of Switzerland, Mr. Groffenried. It is now a popular cultural and leisure spot with a bar, bookstore and cafe on the ground floor.
"I have been living in this area since I was a child. I love this place which shows a combination of Chinese and Western cultures," said a local resident. "The Shanghai Conservatory of Music is also located here, which echoes the artistic atmosphere. I'm running a market here as I want to be immersed in this fantastic place."
The TV drama "My Best Friend's Story" was shot here.
In the show, actresses Liu Shish and Ni Ni, who are good friends in the plot, often wore their school uniform and played here on a balcony. This has made it a popular spot for visitors.
Be sure to drop by the 1933 Old Millfun if you are a film fan. Once a slaughterhouse, it was later transformed into a cultural and arts venue. Stroll around the many unique bridges and tiny staircases that make it like a maze. After the film "Tiny Times" was shot here, people have been flocking to this trendy spot to take photos.
Many other films including "101st Marriage Proposal" and "The Silent War," as well as popular variety shows "Go Fighting" and "Running Man" also chose this place as a setting.
