As this year's Shanghai International Film Festival continues, a competition for the best ten movie and TV program filming locations in the city is in full swing online. After the first round of voting, 30 local settings stood out for final ranking and evaluation.  

Once a small port city for more than a thousand years, Shanghai changed its destiny after it was carved up into concessions of several countries for almost a hundred years from the mid-19th century until the mid-20th century. Numerous Western style buildings and modern skyscrapers make the megacity a melting pot of different architectural styles, and quite a number of them have become hot locations for movies and TV programs and as symbols of Shanghai.
