China scored 256.762 points to win the men's team gold medal for the fourth straight time ahead of Japan (256.694) and Kazakhstan (246.828) at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, a qualifying event for the Paris Olympics, in Singapore on Thursday.
Comprised of Lan Xingyu, Yin Dexing, Ta Yinga, Su Weide and Tian Hao, Team China did not travel with the country's star gymnasts, as they have already qualified for the 2023 Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium in September.
In the men's individual all-around event, 19-year-old Japanese gymnast Shinnosuke Oka took the title with 86.065 points, defeating Filipino Carlos Yulo (85.930) and Takeru Kitazono (85.431) of Japan.
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (244.559) sealed the last two qualifying spots at the world championships, along with China, Japan and South Korea.
The women's individual and team all-around events will be held on Friday, with the competition set to conclude on Sunday.
