It's a custom for the people in Changxing County to host festive events and decorate the dragon boat with colorful flags before setting sail. This grand scene was captured in Shijia Port of Zhangbang Village in Changxing County, Zhejiang Province.
In 2017, the Changxing Dragon Boat was included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of Zhejiang. The region has a steep history of dragon boat races during the Duanwu Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival. Almost every village in the area has its own colorful dragon boat, and it is customary for villagers to join the races in the summertime.
