Many dishes from the Indian subcontinent and other Asian regions are enjoyed with pieces of big, flaky naan – a traditional flatbread. Naan means "bread" in Persian, and its use spread from Central Asia to South Asia. It is often baked in a tandoor, a dome-shaped clay oven. Ingredients include flour, yeast, sugar, salt, ghee, water and yogurt.
