The Tibetan bear, endemic to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in southwest China, tops the local ecological chain with no rival around. In mid-summer, strong doses of plateau sunlight and swarms of bugs ground the Tibetan bear during the day. It prefers hunting at dawn or dusk, or at night. As the sky turns dark at sunset, the temperature drops quickly. A bear is ready to patrol its territory.
