'We Talk': U.S. economic expert envisions China and U.S. sharing global stage

As agreed by China and the United States, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to visit China on June 18 and 19, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry. During his visit, the two sides will exchange views on China-U.S. relations as well as major international and regional issues of common interest. Recently, the United States has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue and communication with China. China and the U.S. have also held meetings in various fields and at different levels. China-U.S. relations are in the spotlight of the global arena and of great importance to the world's strategic stability.

CGTN stringer invites Nick Vyas, an economics expert from the University of Southern California, to talk about the current state of China-U.S. relations, expectations for the development of bilateral ties, and how China and the United States can cooperate amid competition, among other hot topics based on his professional background. He said China and the United States need to be on the same page, sharing values, sharing practices and the global stage, although it's easier said than done.
