Situated in the center of the industrial hub in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou, Suzhou Olympic Sports Center is a top-rated national 5A scenic spot. Designed by the German-based GMP Architects, the sports center covers an area of around 386,000 square meters. The design borrows from elements of the city's iconic traditional gardens, aiming to interpret their charm through a modern architectural design language. As a fusion of natural landscaping and contemporary architecture, this is one of the great architectural "art pieces" created through cultural cooperation and exchanges between China and Germany. Construction of the sports center began in 2013, and it opened to the public in 2018.
