M5.1 quake hits southern Myanmar

A magnitude-5.1 earthquake jolted southern Myanmar at about 8:10 a.m. local time on Monday at a depth of 10 kilometers, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology said.

Residents in some towns in the Yangon Region and many Thai cities, including the national capital Bangkok, said they felt the tremors.

No causalities or damages were reported as a result of the earthquake.
