The Etihad Rail national network in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), jointly constructed by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation with local partners, is set to be a key transportation corridor linking industrial hubs and highly populated areas and ports. Stretching some 1,200 kilometers, the rail line connects the border of Saudi Arabia with the northeastern UAE city of Fujairah.
