Ding Ke, senior vice president and general manager of BBC Studios Greater China, said that it's one of their missions to build a bridge between Chinese and British cultures.
Ding made the remarks during an interview with CGTN at the ongoing 28th Shanghai TV Festival, where a screening event for BBC Studios' popular sci-fi TV series "Doctor Who" was held. "This is the first time we've taken 'Doctor Who' to Shanghai and to meet with the fans in Shanghai and all parts of China. We're very pleasured to have this event here," Ding said.
BBC Studios has two works shortlisted for this year's Shanghai TV Festival. "Inside No.9 Series 7" was shortlisted for "Best Foreign TV Series" and "The Green Planet" for the "Best Documentary Series" category.
