U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's China visit has generated a lot of buzz, but expectations were low. The Biden administration's conflicting messages and actions, along with American politicians' aggressive stance, have made repairing China-U.S. relations difficult. Major-country competition does not represent the trend of the times. Rational, pragmatic attitudes and mutual respect are crucial to peaceful co-existence between China and the United States. Bill Gates, Elon Musk and other American business leaders understand "mutual interest" better. If American politicians realize that and take action, then Blinken's trip can be considered a great success.
