China and Germany should work together to deepen economic and technical cooperation, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Tuesday during his official visit to Germany.
Li made the remarks at the 11th China-Germany Economic and Technical Cooperation Forum with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, with the attendance of more than 200 representatives from the Chinese and German economic and business communities.
Li said that under current changing and turbulent situation, strengthening cooperation is the right way to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. He added that it is also the right thing to do.
"Lack of cooperation is the biggest risk, and lack of development is the biggest insecurity," Li said at the roundtable with representatives of Chinese and German entrepreneurs on Monday.
Scholz noted that Germany will not take the path of anti-globalization. Germany is willing to solve problems in bilateral cooperation through communication and dialogue with China, he added.
China remained Germany's largest trading partner for the seventh year in a row in 2022. Goods from China imported by Germany in 2022 increased by 33.6 percent year on year to $204.4 billion, according to official data. At the same time, German exports to China rose by 3.1 percent to $116.6 billion.
Meanwhile, entrepreneurs attending the roundtable said that China and Germany are important cooperation partners. German business representatives also said they have a positive view on China's economy growth and are willing to increase investment in China.
