A gas explosion in central Paris injured at least 37 people, of whom four are in a critical condition. Local police said about 270 firefighters were on the scene to contain the ensuing fire. The explosion tore through Rue Saint-Jacques, which leads from Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral to Sorbonne University.
