China's first independently-developed ultra-deepwater gas field Shenhai-1, or Deep Sea No. 1, completed the pipeline laying of its phase II project on June 22. The 115.5-kilometer underwater pipeline is a key transmission project connecting the phase II offshore production platform with the onshore receiving station. Located in the South China Sea, southeast of Hainan Island, the Deep Sea No.1 gas field, with a maximum operational water depth exceeding 1,500 meters, is the world's first 100,000-tonne deep-sea semi-submersible oil production and storage platform independently developed by China.
