Written by Cao Xueqin in the 18th century, "Dream of the Red Chamber" is recognized as one of the four great classical novels in Chinese literature.

The work was adapted into TV series in 1987 at the Grand View Garden in Beijing. The show has been hailed as a classic in the history of Chinese television.

On the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival, a group of hanfu enthusiasts revisited some iconic scenes from "Dream of the Red Chamber" at the Grand View Garden and reenacted how the Jia family from the novel would have celebrated this festival.

The festival's main activities include indulging in eating sticky rice dumplings, wearing colorful string bracelets and hanging mugwort leaves on doors.

It's worth noting that Cao Xueqin was also a skilled kite maker.

At Grand View Garden, tourists have the opportunity to witness Cao's kites, which holds national intangible cultural heritage status.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, kite-flying serves as a medium to convey people's hopes and blessings through the wind. Kites are depicted multiple times in "Dream of the Red Chamber" and their meanings are expressed through metaphors or symbols.

As the summer breeze rustles nearby trees, the fragrance of sticky rice dumplings leaves fills the air.

Here people can travel through space and time, immersing themselves in the charm of "Dream of the Red Chamber" as the festive season begins.
