Traditional hanfu clothes reflect history of Chinese civilization

As a historical style of clothing worn and developed by the Han people in China, hanfu has witnessed the long journey of Chinese civilization over the millennia. Based on historical records and textual research, this hanfu show brings to the stage the clothing of four ancient dynasties including the Jin, Tang, Song and Ming. To celebrate China's Dragon Boat Festival, many festive elements also feature in the show.

This video is part of a special festive program presented by China Media Group (CMG) to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu Festival, which falls on June 22 this year.

Featuring various kinds of art forms such as singing, dancing, symphonies and recitals, the program transports audiences to picturesque Zigui Country in Hubei Province,  the hometown of the great Chinese patriotic poet Qu Yuan.

Among the green hills and clean waters of Zigui, artists and performers demonstrate the profound culture surrounding the Duanwu Festival and the country's long history of patriotism among its people.
