The vibe of the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games has been passed on to the ongoing 19th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival as the Games' mascots join the festival with comics fans. CGTN's tech reporter Chenchen connects with one of the mascots, also called Chenchen, at the festival.

Mascot Chenchen, with its blue hue, originates from the iconic arch bridge – the Gongchen Bridge – of the Hangzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

Congcong's name is derived from the cultural relic Jade, which was unearthed from the Liangzhu ancient city ruins in the southwestern outskirts of Hangzhou. Its body is dominated by the yellow color that originates from the earth and symbolizes a good harvest. Liangzhu was declared as a world heritage site by the UNESCO in 2019.

Lianlian comes from the lotus leaves in the West Lake, whose body is covered in fresh and natural green.

With the slogan "Heart to Heart, @Future," the Hangzhou Asian Games will be held from September 23 to October 8 in China's city of internet, Hangzhou.
