The 19th China International Cartoon & Animation Festival is underway in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, serving visitors multiple layers of fun during the cultural holiday Duanwu, or Dragon Boat Festival.

This year's festival, on from June 20 to June 24, has attracted a total of 469 domestic and international enterprises and organizations from 59 countries and regions.

Apart from well-known cartoon and animation characters from Pixar Animation Studio, Walt Disney Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment being displayed on site, the festival also includes interactive pavilions where elements like firefighting, public safety, technology and sports are offered to visitors as "animation plus" experiences.

Mascots of the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou in September, made their appearance during the animation festival as well.
Given the popularity of traditional Chinese attire, visitors have been dressing up in hanfu garments to enjoy the festival to the utmost.
