The Dragon Boat Festival has arrived again, and the traditional customs involving eating zongzi or joining dragon boat races represent huge economic value. According to online grocery platform Dingdong, total zongzi sales volume this year is projected to surpass 20 million yuan ($2.8 million). Additionally, the Dragon Boat Festival is also a three-day holiday that brings significant boost in travel in China. The China Tourism Academy predicts that the number of trips during this period will exceed levels seen in 2019, reaching 100 million trips taken in total.
