In the face of the global development financing gap, China calls on the international community to sincerely cooperate and work together to solve the problems of developing countries, especially vulnerable countries, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said in Paris Friday.

Li made the remarks when attending the closing ceremony of the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, whose key objectives include easing the debt burden on some of the world's most vulnerable countries and finding ways to free up billions of dollars in new funds for climate finance.

He urged developed countries to fulfill their promises to provide aid and financial support for developing countries, which should enhance their capability to pursue self-development as well.

Meanwhile, Li also urged the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and other international financial institutions to implement the consensus reached by G20 leaders, complete a new round of reform on quotas and voting rights, and increase the voice of emerging markets and developing countries.

China will continue to provide various forms of support to other developing countries with practical measures to the best of its ability, said Li, adding that China, together with the international community, pushes for trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and opposes protectionism, decoupling and disrupting supply chains in any form.

China and Europe should cope with the uncertainty of the international situation with the stability of China-Europe relations, and jointly promote the sustainable development of mankind, he said.

As one event of Li's maiden overseas trip since taking office, the two-day event has gathered heads of state and multilateral institutions to discuss ways to reform the global financial system and make it responsive to the challenges of climate change.
