02:02

"China has always regarded the EU as an important pole in a multipolar world." These were the words of Li Qiang on his first overseas trip as Chinese Premier. During his trip to France, a number of bilateral agreements were signed in the fields of aviation, space research and nuclear energy. The trip follows French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to China in April. Echoing Li, President Macron has firmly backed the multilateral order. French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has also agreed on the need for strategic autonomy, and does not support "decoupling from China and breaking the chain". CGTN Reporter Liu Jiaxin has more.
