New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins arrived in Beijing on Sunday night for a visit to China.

At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Hipkins is paying an official visit to China from June 25 to 30. He will also attend the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions, known as the Summer Davos Forum, which is set to be held in north China's Tianjin Municipality.

The visit is Hipkins's first to China after he became the Labor Party's new leader and was sworn in as New Zealand's prime minister in January 2023.

During the visit, leaders of the two sides will hold an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
