Spring is fading and giving way to the luxuriance of early summer in the forests and river valleys. This lonesome fellow on the branch is a member of the largest hornbills in China, called the great hornbill. Even a young adult may have a wingspan measuring over one meter. Its apparent composure belies the anxiety it feels ahead of a midsummer deadline for finding a life partner. Watch the video to see how the bird attracts a partner with his enchanting songs.
