Tokyo Electric Power Company, the operator of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan, on Monday finished removing the heavy machinery used for digging the ocean tunnel.
The preparation for releasing the treated water into the ocean will be almost complete once the discharge port is covered, according to Fukushima Central Television.
