As Summer Davos 2023 kicks off today in the northern Chinese municipality of Tianjin, WTO Director-General Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala sits down with CGTN's Wang Guan. In this exclusive, she hails China as "a poster child for multilateral trading system," given that the country has done "extremely well" since joining the WTO in 2001, a feat that is "critical to the world economy." Okonjo-Iweala also anticipates substantial and robust economic growth in China, especially in a post-pandemic era, but is concerned about talks of "decoupling" from China, as "what happens to China is of consequence to everyone around the world."
