Chinese President Xi Jinping met with New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, who is on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People, on Tuesday in Beijing. Xi stressed that China and New Zealand need to work together to usher in another 50 years of bilateral relations, and promote the steady and long-term development of a strategic and comprehensive partnership. Hipkins said, "The bilateral relationship is multifaceted, encompassing significant economic, people to people and cultural connections. Renewing and refreshing those connections is a really important focus for my visit."
