Team China claimed their second straight win at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup over New Zealand 80-46 on Tuesday.

China's towering center Han Xu continued her momentum with a game-high 17 points and 13 rebounds. Li Meng and Pan Zhenqi each had 10 points.

China built up the score to 33-20 at the halftime, and put their defensive skills on full display in the third quarter, rattling New Zealand with a Han steal leading to an open layup for Yang Liwei as the margin expanded to 20 points.

New Zealand struggled with China's defense when the team remained scoreless for almost 7 minutes until Stella Beck scored with a sky hook before the buzzer.

China remain unbeaten in Group A with an opening victory over Lebanon and a second from New Zealand. Next they will face South Korea, 12-time winner of the event, from whom a victory would send the Chinese team, who are one title short of their upcoming rivals, into the semifinals.

Teams that finish top four in this tournament will advance to the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers.
