The United Nations Security Council held an open meeting on June 27 over Palestine. Zhang Jun, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, said in his speech that the situation in Palestine is the core of the tensions in the Middle East. China has always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, he added.
