Brown-headed gulls were filmed preying on naked carp from Qinghai Lake, along the Shaliu River in Gangcha County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China‘s Qinghai Province. The carp migrate from the salty Qinghai Lake to freshwater to spawn and breed every year from May to August, giving the birds a chance to feast. The brown-headed gulls often fight each other for food.
