A farm near Linyi, east China's Shandong Province, has shifted into a new mode of development that promotes the integration of agriculture with green energy. A photovoltaic power station was built on the farmland where Chinese medicinal herbs, including danshen (or Salvia miltiorrhiza), and honeysuckle were being grown.

Dubbed "agricultural-solar complementary," this mode of development has embraced the "zero-carbon" idea and greatly improved the efficiency of the land production while boosting the incomes of the local farmers there.
