The heartwarming moment a giant panda cub cuddled with its mother as both enjoyed a warm and cozy moment of relaxation was recently captured on video at a breeding base in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
In an amusing video, the panda cub Bing Bao was seen clinging to his mother Bing Bing, appearing to smile. Bing Bao, affectionately nicknamed Bing Tuotuo, is a male giant panda that was born in August 2021 at the base, alongside his twin brother Bing Zai, fondly known as Bing Dundun. Their mother, nicknamed Man Yuetan, is the twin sister of the famous internet celebrity giant panda Qing Qing, also known as Man Yuemei.
The base was built by the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda (CCRCGP) after a magnitude-8.0 earthquake struck the region in 2008. The CCRCGP is a world-leading institution for breeding and conservation of giant pandas, known as one of China's national treasures. The center has established a global platform for giant panda-related cooperation and exchanges with 18 overseas zoos from 16 countries and regions, as well as 39 domestic animal breeding institutions and more than 10 scientific research institutes.
